The group F match between Lazio and BVB will be played inside the great Stadio Olimpico of Rome. The home team was thrashed 3-0 by Sampdoria with Mikkel, Tommaso and Fabio scoring, with Lazio players failing to score a consolation goal. Lazio defence problems over the weekend are most likely to be just the beginning of terrible error to occur in many more matches in the Italy league.
Borussia Dortmund have over the past week shown some impressive performance having won their two last matches, winning against Hoffenheim in an away match and this goes to show how BVB has become a top dog in the UCL despite losing more matches to Bayern than any other team in the Bundesliga.
With the Coronavirus pandemic keeping players out due to self-isolation or quarantine coaches are having difficult time planning when one of their key players is infected and this forces some changes in team tactics. So far from head-to-head starts shows BVB as the most-liked team to win the match.
Team tactics and possible lineups
Simone’s men will be looking forward to clashing with BVB with the match head-to-head statistics showing Lazio as the underdogs. Simone will be missing some players due to injury or Coronavirus infection the doubtful players to start for the home side are: Manuel Lazzari (injury), Stefan Radu (hamstring injury), Bastos, Luiz Felipe (ankle injury) and Silvio Porto (injury), while captain Senad Lulic (ankle injury) will probably also not start the match.
The Lazio defence during the weekend where of their game and we expect them to recover in the UCL match in order to deny BVB a win.
Possible starting lineup 4-4-2;
Starkosha, Patric, Acerbi, Hoedt, Parolo, Leiva, Milinkovic, Alberto, Marusic, Immobile, Correa.
BVB have been in good form since the start of the season with younger starts like Haland showing them his worth by scoring in most of their Bundesliga matches. Lucien may not include the following players in the lineup; Manuel, Piszczek, Nico Schulz, Thorgan Hazard, Dan Axel Zagadou and Marcel Schmelzer.
Lucien Favre has been having a good time this seasons with players showing great form but due to some injury issues, he will not include the above mentioned players in the first eleven list. Haland is still the trusted strike to start the front line backed by Reus, Sancho and Brandt.
Possible starting lineup for BVB 3-4-2-1;
Haland, Sancho, Guerreiro, Witsel, Bellingham, Meunier, Akanji, Hummels, Can, Burki.
BVB have only played once during a friendly against Lazio and won, we also expect a difficult win for them with under 2.5 goals to be scored. Lazio have a nag of being rigid at the back making strike efforts difficult to concede goals and thus the impressive under goal ratio.
BVB to win by a small margin of goals, this match is unlikely to finish level therefore there must be a winner and the favorites to win is Borussia Dortmund.
